DO NOT MOVE FORWARD UNTIL YOU READ ALL OF THIS PLEASE: There are FOUR audiences eligible to compete in Erie this September: Regional Qualified Athletes: This event is by ‘invitation only’. Athletes eligible to compete will have received an email advising them of their eligibility. Our system will only allow these athletes to register.Firefighters from the West and Southwest Regions: In lieu of the regional events previously cancelled by the US Police & Fire Games, firefighters from the West and Southwest Regions who were unable to compete regionally are welcome to come to Erie to earn their regional titles and records for the season, and vie for U.S. National titles.Pennsylvania Firefighters: Any firefighter from Pennsylvania who has not qualified at a regional event is eligible to compete for Pennsylvania specific awards only to determine the BEST in the state.International Competitors: Firefighters from Canada are welcome to cross Lake Erie and take on the course for the opportunity to compete for awards in their own special categories prior to the World Championship event. STOP — READ BEFORE CREATING ANY TEAMAll Tandem and Relay Teams must follow these rules when creating teams. If you do not use the correct format, the system will merge teams or assign athletes incorrectly. REMINDER: this event limits athletes to serving on TWO Tandem Teams and TWO Relay Teams. REQUIRED TEAM NAME FORMATUse forward slashes / exactly as shown.When creating your team name please use the following examples: Hybrid TeamsTeam Name / Run Day / Run #Example of how name should be entered: World Champs / Wednesday / Run 1 Fire Department TeamsTeam Name / Run Day / Run # / Team IDExample of how name should be entered: Smithfield Fire Department / Monday / Run 1 / Team A IF YOUR TEAM RUNS MORE THAN ONCEYou must create a separate team for each run. This prevents the registration system from merging your teams or showing “team already full.” SECOND RUN ON THE SAME DAYCreate a new team using the same team name, same day, but change to Run 2.Example: World Champs / Wednesday / Run 2 SECOND RUN ON A DIFFERENT DAYCreate a new team using the same team name, but change to the new day and Run 1.Example: World Champs / Thursday / Run 1Note: although this is your teams second run, you will enter Run 1 because it's on a different day. TERMINOLOGY (Read Carefully)Team Name: Fire Department Teams: your full legal department name Hybrid Teams: any professional, non‑offensive nameRun Day: The day of the week your run takes place (Monday, Tuesday, etc.)Run #: Run 1 = your team’s first run that day Run 2 = your team’s second run that same dayTeam ID (Fire Department Teams only:) A unique identifier when your department has more than one team in the same subcategory.
